Lauren Shaw Joins the The Jeffrey Ahn, Jr. Fellowship as Program Coordinator

The Jeffrey Ahn, jr. Fellowship is pleased to announce that Lauren Carly Shaw, a practicing artist and experienced arts administrator, has joined the foundation it the role of Program Coordinator.

“It’s very exciting to have Lauren on board with the Fellowship,” said Presca Ahn, who has served as JAJF’s Director since founding the organization in 2014. “Lauren’s energy and talent will be invaluable in growing the Fellowship and its impact on creative young people.”

With a depth of experience in grant writing and arts administration, Lauren has a deep interest in working with artists and not-for-profit agencies to foster the creative growth of individuals and communities. As JAJF’s Program Coordinator, Lauren will facilitate the organization's daily activities, liaise with Fellows and Patrons, and work to expand the organization's outreach.

Paralleling her art practice, Lauren has worked with a number of not-for-profit art agencies, most recently Public Glass in San Francisco, where she focused on grants. In 2010 Lauren worked as an artist's assistant to Jorge Rodriguez Guerra, aiding in the development and execution of major works as well as daily studio maintenance. She has served as Gallery Manager at Dieu Donné Papermill, where she oversaw daily gallery operations, liaised with artists, facilitated a major sales campaign, and managed the proper handling of artworks. Lauren is a graduate of the San Francisco Arts Institute, where she earned an MFA.
