The Jeffrey Ahn, Jr. Foundation is pleased to announce that its 2024 Fellowship has been awarded to Miku Ikeda-Macdermott, 17, a student at Latymer Upper School in the United Kingdom.
For her Fellowship project, Miku proposes to create a biomorphic, interactive LED light installation entitled Bloom.

The work’s format will take its inspiration from geometry in nature, and the way it lights up will respond to the motion of the audience viewing the artwork.
In her winning proposal, Miku wrote, “The purpose of the installation is to illustrate to the audience the prevalence of proportion in nature as well as in architecture. I want to encourage people to appreciate nature’s fleeting beauty and a reassurance of the perpetual return of spring.”
